Dare to Flare

Whilst I lie in bed and procrastinate getting up for college, I thought I'd write another outfit post, that's almost a week late...  My weekend outfit!

Missguided have had so many super cute ranges lately, and I indulged, as you may have noticed by all my posts, and I definitely could not pass up this play suit! It's absolutely gorgeous and I love how floaty it is and even better: it has flares.  It's got a crossed v neck at the front of the dress that isn't overly revealing, however the material is see through so if you're going to wear a bra, black or nude would probably be best in this play suit!  It's scarf print and is focused around 3 main, simplistic colours: black, white, and royal blue.  I paired the play suit with my heeled shoes from Public Desire, I can't remember the name of them I'll have to look it up...  Then I curled my hair, and for my makeup used the Urban Decay electric palette with the blue hues, and the Urban Decay smokey palette to smoke everything out, then 'cherish' by Mac on my lips for a more natural look!

The Perfect TGIF Outfit

So, all in all this weekend I've had a grand total of 8 hours sleep and it's safe to say I'm wiped out!  It's been my besties 18th so a weekend of celebrations has commenced, and it's made me more excited than ever for my birthday in November.  I'm counting down the days and it's definitely going to drag.  But, I've had time to complete my college assignments, catch up on my favourite YouTubers recent uploads and even blog!
The weekends events gave me chance to wear some gorgeous pieces I picked up from Missguided on my little shopping spree, and also to rewear some of my favourite shoes!

The outfit I chose to wear on the Friday night was this gorgeous burgundy, black and white vertical striped shirt dress from Missguided.  I turned it into more of an evening dress by pulling in my waist with the centre ribbon, undid a few buttons and rolled the sleeves up to give it more of an edgy look as I've also been wearing this shirt dress to college!  The silk material is gorgeous and glossy, and is also so comfortable.  I paired the dress with knee high boots bought from Funky Dory, and a black geometric clutch from Primark (£6, bargain!)  I curled my hair and let the curls drop to give it a super soft look, and contrasted this with dramatic face makeup: Diva lipstick by matte, a gorgeous matte vampy red colour, and smokey silver eyes using the new Urban Decay Smoky palette.

Autumn Outfit Post #3

An Autumn day was officially warmer than most of the Summer, despite the breeze.  What's with that Britain?  When I saw that it was going to be 21 degrees today I saw the perfect opportunity to wear my new denim dress from Missguided, and it got a lot of compliments to my surprise!  This is one of my favourite pieces I bought on my little 'shopping spree' last weekend, and I was happy to finally be able to wear it.  When I bought it I pictured it with woolen tights, chunky Chelsea boots and a wool knit black cardigan.  But the weather caused me to wear the dress so minimally and I regret it.

The denim dress from Missguided is super comfortable, the material isn't heavy denim but it's not made from the denim you would expect on your jeans.  It's more airy, but there is no give what so ever in the material, but the only place this was a problem was around the boobs (well, a problem for me.) It has a denim belt to singe you in at the waist, which is a huge help because the dress has an A line cut and doesn't allow any curves what so ever without the belt.  It also helps to make your waist look skinnier, but it was a little too high for me, I'd have liked it to be a little lower!  It's long sleeved and buttons all the way up and down to the collar so it's easy to squeeze into and could even be used as a coat or a jacket with a different outfit!  I paired my dress with my Chelsea boots from New Look that I purchased over 3 years ago so who know's if they're still going!  But they're my autumn essential and I love to show them love.  During the day, I did have my hair in a low bun but as you can tell, I took my hair out by the time I got home.  I wore a huge winged liner on my face using my favourite eyeliner gel; Estee Lauder Stay Onyx, and a nude pink lip from Mac (Creme Cup) so I did not feel 'autumny' at all.  But I love the dress so it's okay, and there are plenty more days in Autumn where I can style this to my hearts desire!

Autumn Outfit Post #2

Today was a very minimal day, but it was warm so it was welcomed!

Anyhow, I'm hoping to begin to get a lot more better quality photos than the ones I'm posting currently because lets face it, they're rubbish.  But that's what I have to work with for now!

I decided to wear my 70's style Burgundy Vest top from Missguided.  I absolutely love the fit of this top, and disclaimer* your boobs do not "fall out of the top."  It's not amazing when accompanied by a bra because the spaghetti straps are narrow and close to the neck, but who cares.  Why pay Victoria's Secret prices for it to be kept a secret, every girl wears a bra.  I love the autumnal colours in this vest top, burgundy, deep brown and orange.  The material is very unique also, it clings to the skin however it's not smooth, it's a rough material.  Kind of like a table cloth... (Good descriptive skills)  I paired my loved table cloth top with my High Wasted Dark Blue Joni Jeans from Topshop.  These are literally the best jeans!  They're so comfortable and there's so much room to move around in them, and I just love the fact they cover my belly, because I hate my belly so it's a win win situation!  I'm also loving the deep blue colour of jeans lately, maybe it's because it's darker than acid wash and I like my dark colours, who knows!  On my size 6 whoppers I wore my fake Timberland style boots from Primark (bargain.) They're not as nice as real Timberlands, obviously, but they do the job if you don't get a huge pay check!  I quickly shoved my hair into a plait, it kind of made me feel like I lived on a farm.  But I like animals so the vibe was great.  On my face I slapped on some Mac eyeshadow in the shade Cranberry and Rule in my crease and dusted some gold eyeshadow from Urban Decay over my entire lid.  Added my huge winged liner then once again my favourite fall lipstick, Mac Diva.  When I went out of the house I threw on a Black Knitted Cardigan from Missguided and also my Black Minimal Leather Bucket Bag once again and I was ready for college!

Autumn Outfit Post

My favourite season for fashion has finally arrived, Autumn!  I absolutely adore all the colours and textures of Autumn fashion; Cranberry and rust reds, khaki green, deep browns, golds and berry purples...  Wool, woven fabric, rough leather, suede!

So, seems as it's my favourite time of year I've decided I'm going to document what I'm wearing for these 'warm but freezing' weeks ahead!  Plus the fact that I'm going to love putting some of my 'oldies but goodies' together is going to give me some incentive to finally blog frequently!  (We'll see how that plays out...)

Today was my first day back at college, and I couldn't really tell what the weather was going to turn out like at 6 o'clock in the morning (painful.) Therefore, I put an outfit together that could work for warm and cold weather, and it definitely did because the weather today was a fickle bitch.

I went for a pretty basic look today, I wanted to be comfy and casual for college.  I didn't want to look like I was trying as much as I actually was pretty much.  I decided to go for my Jumper Dress from Missguided.  It's made from a black knit material and is woven in plaited strings.  The jumper dress hangs off one shoulder making it look super casual and 'girl next door'.  There isn't a lot of stretch in the hems of the material but it's still super comfy and comes down to around the centre of my thigh.  Because I'm not the biggest fan of showing my bare legs (who is in autumn and winter?) I put on some 40 Denier tights from George so that I didn't get too warm, but I was covering the unwanted skin.  On my massive feeties, I wore my beloved Black Leather Chelsea Boots from New look that have seen me through at least 3 harsh winters now.  The quality is definitely there, but you can tell that they've felt the love over the years.  I'm in love with my new Black Minimal Leather Bucket Bag from Missguided, it's an extremely simple design and goes with any outfit and it's like the Tardis.  I could fit a whole horse in this bag, it's so handy!  I wore some huge gold hoop earrings (Gretchen Wieners quote...  Almost.) to add more of a put together touch to it, honestly it completely changed it from 'comfy slouch' to 'completely thought out outfit.'  Then, I shoved my hair back into a long pony and let the front pieces of hair fall forward, further creating this illusion that I had made no effort what so ever.  On my face I had Mac Diva lipstick because who doesn't want gothic berry lips for Autumn?  If it's in, dare to wear it.  And a massive winged liner on my eyes using Estee Lauders Gel Liner in Stay Onyx.  That's pretty much it.  Now I have the stress of tomorrows outfit...

Liebster Award

First of all, I would like to thank Blossoming Daydreams for my nomination for the Liebster Award!  I think that this is such a good idea and it felt wonderful to be nominated to take part in such a cute tag!
The rules are:

  • Thank and link the person who nominated you
  • Answer the questions they asked you
  • Nominate and link the 11 chosen bloggers and ask them 11 new questions
  • Let the bloggers know that you have nominated them
So lets get started with this exciting blog post!

You can only use one item of makeup for a week, what would you choose?
This is such a tricky question because I never use just one piece of make up...  I'm going to say MAC's eye shadow in the shade Brun [we're getting specific guys!] for my eyebrows.  I feel like eyebrows can automatically pull your face together and make such a difference, plus I hate how thin and oddly shaped my eyebrows are, so definitely this product!

Where would your dream holiday be?
Easy peasy; Hawaii.  Any part of Hawaii that's really stereo typical and cliche...  Where I can wear Hoola skirts, coconut bra's and a flower necklace around my neck without getting attacked by insects.  Somewhere near the beach that I could learn to surf, and preferably be a pro within 0.3 seconds.  Close enough to the volcanoes that hopefully wouldn't erupt.  I'd want to stay in a little hut above the water with a glass floor so that I could see all the fishes swimming beneath my feet.  The sand would be perfectly white and I could swim with Turtles, the sea would be a gleaming, crystal blue...  I'm getting carried away here, honestly if I carry on a Unicorn may come into the equation.

What is your idea of a great Saturday night?
The Saturday night that I never experience pretty much as a student now!  Waking up late to a breakfast in bed; specifically full English please!  Watch TV for a few hours, write a few blog posts, film a YouTube tutorial.  I'd just want to have time really!  Then to get a Jacuzzi bubble bath with a Lush Bath Bomb and relaxing music, wash my hair and put some Lush Shower Gel on.  Then get out, dry my hair, put my extensions in, slap my make up on, a party outfit and 6 inch heels.  Meet up with my girlfriends and have a few 'pre-drinks' and then go to a party!  That wasn't really Saturday night but I just got excited about the idea of Saturday again...

What is your favourite song/album at the moment?
My favourite song is Elastic Heart by Sia, her new release containing Shia LaBouf and Maddie in her music video, the one creating all the controversy about how people view the video...  Yeah!  That one!

What is your favourite possession?
This is pretty bad but I don't actually have one...  There isn't anything I have that I like to come across each day or that I would be absolutely devastated if I lost it.  If I were to choose one thing it would be my photo album, because it contains all the people that I hold dear in it.

When did you start your blog?
I actually started this blog around about 8 months ago and then got bullied in school for being a blogger so deleted all my posts and social media accounts.  But I started up again on the 30th December 2014 because I thought 'fuck you'.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?
When I first started dating my boyfriend and it was a morning where I'd just woken up and had no makeup on and I had a bed head and what I refer to as 'death breath', and he called me 'beautiful' and 'perfect'.  It is very cringey, I understand, but I had never been called beautiful from anyone other than my family or by randomers on social media, and yeah, it's lovely for them to pay you the compliment, but it's just the fact that he said it and I actually believed it for the first time ever when he said it.  It was weird and nice and I don't know how to explain it but it was just a lovely moment for me and I'll probably never forget it... [cringe.]

If you could be any age for a week, what would it be?
21.  NO RULES MOTHER FUCKER. [stfu abide by the law.]

What question do you hate to answer?
"What do you want to eat?"  Generally because the answer is 'everything' and I feel like a fat fuck. [Cursing a lot in this post, I do apologise for my foul tongue.]

How do you start a conversation?
This is a trick question; obviously 'hi' but I have a gut wrenching urge to put 'yo turd burglar'

If you could spend any day with one celebrity, who would it be?
Channing Tatum.  I would be the mother to his love child.  [That was disgusting, ashamed of myself.]

So that's all the lovely questions from Blossoming Daydreams answered [click here to check out her blog!]  Thank you for the nomination lovely!

My questions for the lovely bloggers I have nominated are:
  1. What is a piece of advice that you would give to someone you just met?
  2. What made you want to start blogging?
  3. What are 3 words that you would use to describe yourself?
  4. What is your favourite movie?
  5. What is your favourite topic to blog about?
  6. What is your favourite thing about yourself?
  7. If you could go back in time and give yourself some advice, what would it be?
  8. If someone offered to tell you how you would die (and it was accurate) would you want to know?  Why?
  9. What is your favourite makeup brand?
  10. Has blogging changed your life at all?
  11. What's one thing you want to do before you die?
Thank you for reading this and participating if I have nominated you, please tag me in your Liebster award post so that I can read them because I'd love to see your responses!
I love you all!

Valentines Gifts for your Boyfriend

As a girl, I'll admit it: I am pretty damn hard to buy presents for.  But let's not beat around the bush, I'm sorry boys, you are the most difficult to find a suitable gift for!
I'm lucky, because my boyfriend is happy with pretty much anything I buy for him, whether it be shoe laces or his own personal cruise ship [FYI: this has never happened though.  It was just said for effect.  I pretty much have £2 to my name.]  But I do know a lot of my girl/guy friends struggle with buying their other half presents, especially around valentines day when things get 'romantic'.
First of all; I personally don't think a Valentines day gift has to be necessarily romantic.  I think that fact that you have thought about your partner, saved some money and have searched for a gift for them is a romantic gesture.  So some of these ideas that I list are not going to be romantic.
So lets get into this thing:

"Cliché" Chocolate, Flowers and a Big Cuddly Bear

I swear I'm not crazy.  Some boys love receiving a bouquet of flowers, I mean how many people think to buy their boyfriend a bouquet of flowers?  It is a rare occasion, and it can mean a lot to some boys!  [Just be sure that your other half is the type for this kind of gift...]  And have you ever turned your back and caught your partner from the corner of your eye cuddling into that pile of teddy bears that you've hoarded for the last 15 years?  Or walked into a room in their house to see a teddy bears head poking out from behind a wardrobe or under a bed?  I know that the answer is yes.  Guy's love cuddly toys too, especially when they're meaningful.  They grew up surrounded by teddy bears, exactly the same as us girls did!  And Chocolate doesn't even need an explanation.  Honestly it doesn't.  [Because you'll be the one eating half the box, so why not.]

Gamers: Console Games and Accessories

If your partner is a 'gamer', this is probably the most romantic and thoughtful gift that you could buy for him.  But, it is not as simple as it looks.  First, you must become a secret MI5 agent to discover what games and console accessories he already has.  Or alternately [and a lot of a simpler solution] ask one of his friends, family, room mates etc. to check what he has; sneakily of course.  Don't let them let the cat out of the bag.  You have permission to blame them if the secret slips.  OR quite simply, here are some new game releases and ideas to help you out, I know the majority of us girls aren't experts at game consoles:

Games

  • COD: Advanced Warfare
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection
  • Assassins Creed: Unity / Rogue
  • Destiny
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Far Cry 4
  • Mario Kart 8
  • EA Sports UFC
  • Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark
  • Sims 4
  • Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes
  • Fifa 15
  • Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Console Accessories

  • Limited edition controllers [such as Xbox One COD: Advanced Warfare controller]
  • Head sets
  • Expansion packs
  • Buy them 'points/coins/tokens' or whatever [I am no gaming expert...  Except for on Sims.  Do not even talk to me about Sims.]

Other Gadgets

  • Gadget Show tickets
  • Mini Ipod
  • Remote control car/helicopter/plane [they will revert to their child like years.]
  • Nurf Guns [If this is an option, I would also buy yourself one...  I learnt from that mistake by getting shot in the forehead every time I turned a corner.  It was frustrating being unarmed.]

Music Based Prezzies

If your other half is into music, this is a great gift that could benefit you both.  Buy them tickets to a concert, or a festival!  Buy them vinyl albums, or find limited edition CD's.  Go on EBay and bid on signed CD's, vinyl's and pictures [but make sure that they are genuine.  I did this once without checking and thought I was getting a bargain when I got a signed Arctic Monkeys CD for £2.99.  I received a printed out photo and couldn't return it...  Bad experiences.]
Find band merchandise that may have been sold at previous gigs, or just has their favourite band/artists on.  T-shirts for example.
If they have a car, or speakers, you could also buy them an aux lead.  It's just something small, but it's quicker than syncing your phone to the Bluetooth every single time you get in for a drive!  An itunes voucher, as there is nothing more frustrating than spending £1.50 on one bloody song that you over play and want to delete after a week.  ITunes Vouchers are life savers, especially for boys into music!

Take Them Out!

Presents don't always have to be something that you unwrap.  One of the most thoughtful surprises is going up to your other half and saying 'I have something planned for us, let's go!'  It show's that you've put a lot of thought into the day and you want to spend your time with them and make a day out of it!  Whether it's a meal, or a trip to the cinema, shopping or a theme park; find something you would both enjoy and get to bond over [however many years you've been together] it's always a winner!

Cook Them Foodie Treats!

There's nothing better than walking into a house that smells of fresh baking.  Look up baking recipes on the internet or try these:
Or, dip some strawberries in chocolate, perfect!  Baking is a quick and easy way to show that you've put time and effort into a delicious gift!  [Even if they end up in a flop...]  It's also a very romantic gesture, what's even better is you'll get to share in the enjoyment of eating them!

I hope this post has helped you figure out something that you could buy for your other half to make valentines day special!  I'll be sure to try and post more suggestions when my brain starts ticking again!
Love you all!

Kendall Jenner Inspired Makeup Tutorial [youtube]

Start off the year as I mean to go on.  I'm going to start uploading a video on my channel every Sunday so that it's more frequent for everyone who watches my videos [also, thank you so much for the support that has been shown about my youtube channel, peoples interactions make it worth while doing for me.  So thank you so much!]
But here is a Kendall Jenner inspired makeup look for you all, my second Kendall Jenner inspired look in fact!  I saw this picture that she posted on instagram and I fell in love with the makeup that she wore, I also fell in love with the fact that it was on her face.  [Major girl crush.]
I'd love it if you could check out the video and tell me what you think!  I love receiving comments on the videos that I produce, as I said, the interactions are more fun than filming and producing the video for me!  Like and subscribe too!
I hope that not too many of you are suffering from awful hangovers, but if you are, put your feet up, have an all English breakfast/fry up and take a look at my new video, or even my whole channel, to kill some time whilst your head stops spinning!
Have a lovely day everyone and I hope you kick off the New Year wonderfully and that everyone is safe and well.  Thank you!
